Stretching Man

This is my first bronze sculpture and remnants of it can be found of all of my later work. It began my passion to understand the complexities of human anatomy through a pose that captures movement and balance. With arms raised and body in contrapposto, it challenges the viewer to see the symmetry and tension that contribute to perceived motion. This piece synthesizes my study of the human form, blending precise anatomical detail with principles of idealized geometry to highlight the perfection and fluidity inherent in the design of the human figure. The sculpture is a visual encyclopedia, each angle and curve offering insights into the structure and potential of the human body. The hands and eyes are closed to symbolize introspection conveying a deep, reflective state where the figure withdraws from the external environment to engage in a personal exploration of thoughts and emotions.
